Packing Guide

Everything you need — and what to leave at home — for every Disney destination. Beth's personally tested essentials.

✦ Beth's Golden Rule

Pack for the trip you're actually taking — not the trip you imagined. Every client who over-packs regrets it by Day 2. Every client who follows this guide thanks me by Day 1. The magic is in the parks, not in your suitcase.

The Foundation

Non-Negotiable Essentials

These items are the difference between an exhausting day and a magical one. Don't leave home without them.

👟

Broken-In Shoes

The single most important item. You will walk 8–12 miles per day. New shoes = blisters = ruined trip. Wear your park shoes for 2 weeks before you go.

🎒

Day Bag / Backpack

A lightweight 15–20L pack with padded straps. Must fit in ride lockers (avoid frame packs). Hydration bladder compatibility is a bonus.

🔋

Portable Charger

20,000 mAh minimum. The Disney app, Genie+, and MagicBand drain your phone fast. Bring a multi-port model to charge simultaneously.

💧

Reusable Water Bottle

Insulated, 32 oz minimum. Disney parks offer free ice water at any quick-service window. This saves $5–8 per drink, per person, per day.

☀️

Reef-Safe Sunscreen

SPF 50+ minimum. Apply before leaving the hotel — not after you arrive. Beth recommends Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch. Reapply every 90 minutes.

🧢

Hat with Brim

Baseball caps work but a wide-brim hat provides better coverage. Beth's personal pick: a packable sun hat that folds flat for ride storage.

🕶️

Sunglasses

UV-rated, secure fit (or bring a strap). Bright Florida sun and Disney Paris summer can be brutal. Consider a budget backup pair — parks lose glasses.

🩹

Blister Kit

Moleskin, NuSkin, or Compeed blister bandages. Carry these in your day bag from Day 1. The moment you feel a hot spot, treat it immediately.

🌧️

Compact Rain Poncho

Florida afternoon thunderstorms are almost daily June–September. A packable poncho beats an umbrella (no lockers, wind problems). In-park ponchos cost $12+.

📱

Phone Mount / Wrist Strap

A crossbody phone holder or wrist tether prevents drops and theft. Disney crowds are dense. Pickpockets exist at DLP especially — secure your valuables.

💳

Zip-Close Wallet

Water rides soak regular wallets. A zip-close or waterproof pouch protects cards and IDs. Keep a small daily cash amount separate from your main wallet.

🧴

Travel-Size Toiletries

Hand sanitizer, lip balm SPF, deodorant wipes, feminine products. Hotel gift shops charge 3× retail. Pack these in a TSA quart bag for easy airport security.

✦ Pro Tip

Use a packing cube system: one cube per person, one for park-day clothes, one for resort/evening wear. Color-coding saves 15 minutes every morning. Beth uses Eagle Creek Pack-It Cubes — they compress and are carry-on compliant.
